Rainbow Bridge Memories

This page is dedicated in loving memory to the MNSR foster and adopted Shelties who are waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge.

Rainbow Bridge Stories

After dealing with many health issues and surgery when she came to MNSR, Murphy was ready to begin the best part of her life with her new family. She loved visiting grandma and grandpa, herding her feline siblings, and walking alongside the stroller on family walks to greet the neighbors on her social rounds. Everyone adored Murphy and she seemed to sense when someone needed extra comfort. Murphy crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 18th, 2021. I know she had so many happy years here with us. It’s so hard to say goodbye.

When Sadie’s dad first came to meet her at her foster home, she walked right up to him without any hesitation and we knew it was a perfect match. She enjoyed life on the lake and her daily long walks. She knew where every rabbit lived along her route. Sadie gained her angel wings on March 5th, 2021 and was welcomed by her loving mom who had been waiting to reunite with her.

Maggie came into rescue at the age of 12 when her people had to move to assisted living. She joined our permanent foster program, where she was cherished by her foster family for 3 wonderful years. Maggie crossed the Rainbow Bridge at 15 1/2 on February 1st, 2021 and is very missed by her foster family for whom she was their constant companion.

Eight years ago, I asked MNSR if we could foster the next Sheltie/Pom. The very next week, we met with Peanut’s owner and learned that he was 7 years old, not house broke, and strong willed. The owner had contacted other rescues but they couldn’t take him. We were his last hope before going to an overcrowded shelter. We loaded him in the car inside his crate. He got out & climbed in my lap. We realized he had picked us & he was home.
