Rainbow Bridge Memories

This page is dedicated in loving memory to the MNSR foster and adopted Shelties who are waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge.

Rainbow Bridge Stories

Pooh Bear came into rescue at 10 years of age with medical issues. He also came with the most soulful, innocent eyes, and his charming, friendly personality quickly won over his vacation foster family who welcomed him with open arms to join their family permanently. He was always willing to provide a dose of Pooh Bear therapy if someone was having a rough day. Snuggling with him and holding his paw worked magic. Pooh Bear crossed the rainbow bridge September 15th, 2019 at the age of 17 years and 7 months, surrounded by his loved ones, his teddy, and his blankie. We told him about all the love he had from everyone on social media and about all the pals he will get to meet on the other side.

Hunter was an escape artist in his previous home, and he was so grateful to find a forever home with people who were able to commit to keeping him safe, while still having wonderful adventures in life. Hunter loved rolling in the snow, and was very excited at the sight of his leash which meant a fun outing. He was a brave, determined, kind, and gentle soul. I thought of him as our little gentleman dog, always patient, gentle, and approachable with people of all ages, well behaved, and a good traveler. Older people and kids alike were attracted to his quiet and calm manner. Our granddaughter was a huge fan of Hunter, one of her first words, “uppie”, prompted by Hunter. We thank you so very much for your help in getting Hunter into our lives. We were very, very pleased to provide him with his forever home, even if forever only lasted just over 7 years, but a period of time that feels like we had a lifetime connection to him.

After being rescued from a neglectful situation, Charlie quickly formed a very close bond with his dad. Charlie loved playing in the snow and going for walks with dad. He was a star in agility class, and was proud to be the office dog. Charlie crossed the Rainbow Bridge in August, 2019. " He was my nearly constant companion and I couldn't have asked for a better dog and friend."

Lui

Lui came into rescue at the age of 8 and found his forever home with a loving couple and their mini Aussie. Lui had a wonderful life full of adventure with them, traveling the United States in a motorcoach, and spending time in northern Minnesota in the summer, Arizona in the fall, and southern Florida in the winter. Lui gained his angel wings unexpectedly on July 24th, 2019. "He was truly loved and cared well for. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to love Lui!"
