Rainbow Bridge Memories

This page is dedicated in loving memory to the MNSR foster and adopted Shelties who are waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge.

Rainbow Bridge Stories

Seamus was a happy boy who loved his people, greeting them excitedly when they returned home. He enjoyed playing with his Sheltie siblings, and long walks and play dates with the neighbor dog in his younger days. This little dog gave my family so much joy and we will always wish he could have stayed longer.

We said goodbye to our sweet tiny rescue girl Adele on May 13th, 2021 and sent her off to run free with Scooter, take naps with my mom and have no more fears about the world around her. Adele was taken into the Minnesota Sheltie Rescue after a breeder in Wisconsin was turned in. She was estimated to be 5 years old and spent all her years as a puppy mill mama. Her health and fur were very clearly not taken care of and all her ‘nutrients’ were being used by all her puppies.

Jake found his forever home with MNSR Sheltie, Dasher, and an extended family of MNSR Shelties. Jake and Dasher enjoyed traveling with dad, and Jake looked forward to his visits with residents at St. Gerald’s Nursing Home. He gained his angel wings on May 5th, 2021, and is dearly missed by his dad, Sheltie brother, his 4 and 3-legged cousins, and his many friends at St. Gerald’s.

Kimmy arrived in rescue in 2007 with a group of shelties when a breeder went out of business. After a year in foster, Kimmy was adopted by a wonderful mom who didn’t see a Sheltie with special needs, but a very capable three-legged Sheltie with a big capacity to love and be loved. Kimmy and her Sheltie sister, Halco, became famous around Minneapolis, gaining many friends when out for exercise with mom. Kimmy and Halco even have their photo up in Trader Joe's as well known faces in the neighborhood! We were so fortunate to have Kimmy, Halco and mom attend the MNSR virtual parade on April 24, 2021. Kimmy was a regular attendee in her stroller at our reunions and it was so lovely to see her.
