Rainbow Bridge Memories

This page is dedicated in loving memory to the MNSR alumni who found their forever families and are now waiting for us at the Bridge.

Rainbow Bridge Stories

I want to thank everyone at MNSR for giving us the opportunity to adopt Brixter into our family over 7 years ago. We had to say goodbye to our little sweetheart Brixter today. We are so glad we adopted this senior boy. He was smart, energetic, spunky, so much fun, and such a happy little fellow. I will remember all the fun times we had with him. He was like my little shadow and was always eager to go out and have fun. This last year he was struggling and we would take him on wagon rides instead of walking or running, which he loved to do. Saturday, we took him to the park with his wagon and he enjoyed riding around and being outdoors seeing the ducks and geese. I wish we had at least 7 more years with this sweet boy. He will be greatly missed.

Winnie’s family was committed to helping her achieve and maintain a healthy weight. She got so excited for her daily walks with dad, and barking and playing in the snow. Winnie gained her angel wings on September 20th, 2022.

My dear Chance crossed the rainbow bridge on Sept. 20, 2022 at the wonderful age of 15 years. I think Chance really adopted me rather than the other way around. The very first day I brought him home he jumped up on the couch and sat up like a gopher in the crook of my arm.  I knew right then that I was keeping him. Chance loved life. He faced every obstacle as if it was no big deal. He experienced a front leg amputation, heart murmur, Lyme disease, chest puncture from a dog attack, and towards the end, arthritis, hearing and sight loss. Yet nothing stopped him from enjoying life to the fullest. He taught me so much about friendship, loyalty, being strong, loving, happy-go-lucky and most of all humility.

Winston came into rescue very deserving of a loving family, and he got just that with a wonderful couple who have loved many MNSR Shelties over the years. Sweet Winston is no longer with us and is now at peace. He was a good boy with a sweet and gentle spirit. He went to sleep in a gazebo, surrounded by nature and our love. Thank you Minnesota Sheltie Rescue for bringing him into our lives, and always being there for us.
