MN Sheltie Rescue Reunion, Saturday, April 11th

We are once again looking forward to the 2015 Minnesota Sheltie Rescue Reunion and hope to see you there!  Remember, even if your dog is not able to attend, you are very welcome to attend.  Many of the dogs adopted are too shy or fearful to come to such a large event.  If that is the case with your Sheltie, you are still invited.  We will be serving lunch and have a silent auction, games for the dogs to participate in and we will again have a sheltie parade.  There will be crate space, if you would like to bring a crate, this will allow your sheltie to rest while you eat and browse the silent auction.  We will have MN Sheltie Rescue merchandise for sale and a variety of vendors.

If you have not yet received your invitation by mail or email, please contact us at

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Here is a general program of the day's events:

We appreciate the support we get from all our vendors.  Vendors this year include:

Alan Michael (Reiki for dogs)

Four Paws Gourmet (Irene - dog treats)

Jane Fallander (Ask the Trainer)

Jessie’s Photography,

Julie Snouffer (Animal communicator)

Sarah Palm (Dog massage)

WOA by Krista (Custom glass paw print ornaments, fused glass)

SEND AN EMAIL WITH A PHOTO OF YOUR ADOPTED DOG(S) TO MEL FREER at  Photos must be sent by March 27st to be included in posters that will be displayed at the reunion.  Please include the name of your Sheltie and the year adopted .  Send 1 picture per dog.  Need not be a professional photo.  Casual photos are just fine.  We are going to have poster made up with the pictures that are sent in and they will be on display at the reunion.

11:30-1:30 Lunch (Suggested Donation $5-$10)

2:15-2:30 Parade to acknowledge Shelties in attendance

2:30 Silent Auction (Cash & Check Only) ends & pick up items

If you wish to donate an item for the Silent Auction or for a future fundraising event, that would be great!  If you are donating an item, it will not necessarily be used the day of the reunion.  We need donation items for other events held throughout the year and the reunion is a great time to collect items that can be used at future fundraisers.  Donation items can either be brought the day of the event by 11:30 am or if you let me know, we can either arrange a pick-up or a drop-off location.

We will again be offering Clips & Tips Grooming with MN School of Business Vet Techs.  You can get your dog’s nails done for a $5 suggested donation or get some tips on how to groom your sheltie to keep them looking good.  We will have an Ask the Trainer booth available to get dog behavior questions answered.  No cost to get a little advice if you have any questions on problem behaviors with your dog.
