930 Shelties Helped

From inception in 2003, Minnesota Sheltie Rescue has been helping shelties find their best and last home. We took in 23 shelties that first year. In 2007 we had our most incoming dogs at 84! In recent years we haven’t had as many each year, but have had many more seniors and special needs (health and/or behavior) dogs, so the work continues. Shelties helped by MNSR, inception to date is 930.

Kobe was the very first MNSR sheltie. Abandoned to the neighborhood woods in the winter of 2003 by a neglectful family, another neighbor started feeding him. He wouldn't come close enough for them to touch him until the spring, and then they called us. He tested positive for heartworm and lyme and was almost unresponsive to human attention. But he warmed up when his new family came to meet him, and went home to live the rest of his life in security, warmth and love, joined in 2004 by MNSR sheltie sister, Sophie. #GTMD20
