Rainbow Bridge Memories

This page is dedicated in loving memory to the MNSR foster and adopted Shelties who are waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge.

Rainbow Bridge Stories

Sophie found a very loving forever home with a couple who welcomed her as an important part of their family. She was always included in their travels across the United States, and she seemed to enjoy the traveling. The grandchildren loved Sophie, and she was very gentle with them. Sophie crossed the Rainbow Bridge on May 28th, 2019. She was a big part of our family. We will miss her.

When his forever family came to meet a couple of Shelties for adoption, Wally knew they were meant for him and he made sure he would be the chosen one by crawling into mom’s lap. His favorite activities included cuddling for hours, giving kisses, rolling in the snow, and he really excelled at sleeping. Each night he slept with “Stuffie”, his stuffed Sheltie toy, using Stuffie as a pillow and holding him in his paws. He was such a sweet, endearing and cute boy that strangers actually wanted to buy him a toy! Mr. Wally crossed the Rainbow Bridge on May 22nd, 2019, just two weeks short of his 15th birthday, reuniting with his beloved sister Suzy at the Bridge. The sweetest little man Sheltie in the universe.

Roxie came to MNSR after having experienced some traumas in her life. She was understandably very particular about choosing her forever family, and she gave her paw of approval to the 3rd family she met. Roxie was one of the senior Shelties that have graced our house, and the most beautiful dog I have ever seen. When it became too difficult for her to continue to walk on 3 legs at age 16, she got a doggie stroller of her own, and became quite the hit around our senior place as "the pretty little Lassie with her own wheels." Our little three-legged wonder Sheltie, Roxie was called to the Rainbow Bridge on May 17th, 2019. I’m convinced she’s romping around with all legs restored, waiting impatiently for her Daddy to appear!

Moby came to MNSR as a youngster who had already had several transitions in his young life. He found his happily ever after with a special family and a best buddy Sheltie named Kosmo. His favorite solitary pastime was sunning in the window or on the deck on a nice day, occasionally getting up to bark at a passing squirrel or chipmunk that dared to pass his yard. When little humans came along in the family, Moby loved to pounce on them with kisses, which resulted in a burst of giggles from the kids. He and Kosmo always checked on the kids in the mornings and at bedtime. We said goodbye to our beloved Moby on May 3rd, 2019. We miss him so much, but we’re relieved that he isn’t suffering. We are smiling through the tears, remembering the goofy scrappy guy that he was and all the laughter he brought us. Now he is at the rainbow bridge with our other Sheltie boy, Kosmo, running and playing like they always used to.
