Harley

We adopted Harley and his mate Mia from a very bad situation. Harley was in rough shape and had to have all his teeth pulled. In the process he developed a stricture. He required multiple balloon dilation procedures to open his esophagus. MNSR volunteers Kathy, Meaghan and others were instrumental in helping us get the care needed to save Harley’s life. Harley had to eat only puréed food but he had a good appetite. The last year and half, he started showing signs of dementia, blindness and occasionally had seizures. We made him as safe and comfortable as possible. We were so excited when he made it to the New Year! But on New Year’s Day he had a very bad seizure that he didn’t come out of. As much as we hated to have to make that decision to let him go, we knew it was for the best. He was a beautiful Sheltie and such a great dog. Our house is so empty without him, he was much loved.
