Adele

We said goodbye to our sweet tiny rescue girl Adele on May 13th, 2021 and sent her off to run free with Scooter, take naps with my mom and have no more fears about the world around her. Adele was taken into the Minnesota Sheltie Rescue after a breeder in Wisconsin was turned in. She was estimated to be 5 years old and spent all her years as a puppy mill mama. Her health and fur were very clearly not taken care of and all her ‘nutrients’ were being used by all her puppies.

We rescued her in March 2012 with no idea how unsocialized she was. We didn’t hear her bark or play with toys for months or even walk into our kitchen. We took food to her and carried her outside....until her last day. She was a flight risk and would run if any loud, unexpected noise occurred. We tried to train her to walk on a leash, but dang that world was just too big and scary for our Adele. We decided putting her through that stress was not worth it.

Scooter & Adele were our Sheltie duo for 4.5 years before Noelle joined us. Adele came to trust us, but was definitely set way back due to her time in a puppy mill. Early on she decided to sleep between our pillows and that was her spot until the end. Her mystery really captured the girls and their bond was adorable to watch. Add in how tiny Adele was and the girls wanted to carry her everywhere. Adele you taught us so much about love and patience and pure cruelty and we know we gave you the best little life. We hope you are feeling so free and Scooter is watching you run in amazement!
