Peanut
Eight years ago, I asked MNSR if we could foster the next Sheltie/Pom. The very next week, we met with Peanut’s owner and learned that he was 7 years old, not house broke, and strong willed. The owner had contacted other rescues but they couldn’t take him. We were his last hope before going to an overcrowded shelter. We loaded him in the car inside his crate. He got out & climbed in my lap. We realized he had picked us & he was home.
Peanut always listened to me and followed me everywhere, he always had to be in the same room I was in. Bathroom included! When he got tired and wanted to rest, he wouldn’t lie down until I sat down so he yelled at me until I did. The only time he would leave me was to go for a walk with my husband. I wouldn’t go and the rest of our dogs wouldn’t go, just him, trotting after my husband, tail high, head turning this way and that.
Towards the end, Peanut wasn’t able to make the walk so we made it so he could still get out there and smell the smells of our place. Thank you so much for this little dog who was such fun! Goodnight Little P.
