Tessa
When we first met Tessa at her foster parents she hid behind a recliner and would peek around at us. We had the impression she was very shy and it would take time for her to bond to us. Her foster parents had never heard her bark either. We were in for a surprise. When we brought her home she immediately jumped up on the couch and cuddled up to my wife. She took over the house as if it was hers and she guarded it, and us, with her life. Tessa’s adoption turned out to be a perfect match. After adopting seven Shelties over 40 years, she was the most outgoing, feisty, and spunky Sheltie of all.
There is much sadness over our loss. Tessa was such a part of us and real member of the family. She brought us so much joy in our daily lives. The peace I have after losing Tessa is that she had a very secure and loving home for at least half of her life. She gave us so much joy and companionship in return. I’m thankful for MN Sheltie Rescue and the Sheltie friends I have made through this organization.
