11 and a half years ago, Katy, this sweet, gentle soul came into our lives. Frightened, shy, but always curious. She had been raised in a 3x3 cage as she was a Puppy Mill rescue. She was broken but she fought long and hard to overcome her past. The first thing we could get her to eat was hot dogs... In these last days, that is again what she got...her beloved hot dogs! She went from a dog that hid in a closet, to greeting people at the door when they came over. She went from not allowing anyone to touch her, to soft butterfly nudges and hugging and holding. She went from not barking, to barking softly when she wanted to alert to possible intrusions (in her mind). Katy was able to enjoy her last Sheltie reunion. Even though sadness overwhelms us, I am so very blessed and thankful that our little Katy chose us, graced us with her beauty and kind, gentle spirit.  She never demanded anything but gave us her heart, soul and trust. Beautiful Katy gained her angel wings on April 15th, 2019.
