Rainbow Bridge

"Just this side of Heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge."

"When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together..."

Rainbow Bridge Stories

Sunny fit into his forever family immediately, and they felt as though he had always been part of the family, the perfect match. Sunny loved meeting people and animals on walks, such a happy, friendly and loving boy. His family loved and cherished him dearly. Sadly, he crossed the Rainbow Bridge in September, 2017. "Sunny was an amazing blessing in our lives. We miss him every day."

Lizzie knew she was home to stay when she visited a neighbor of her foster home, decided she liked what she saw, and moved right in! She loved to play with her frisbee outside, was a daddy's girl and adored mom, too, and she had a very cute habit of making sounds. Everyone loved Lizzie, including some deer that she befriended. Lizzie crossed the Rainbow Bridge on August 19th, 2017. "She was truly a gift to us and we are so appreciative of the wonderful years we had."

When he found his forever family, they called him Sherlock because of his amazing detective work at figuring out which hand held the Cheerios! Sherlock enjoyed playing Frisbee and brought a lot of joy to his family. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge on August 9th, 2017 and though he is very missed, his family is grateful to have been part of his life.

Our thoughts are with Murray's mom - her beautiful boy has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Murray was adopted in 2007 by a kind woman who not only gave him the opportunity to try lots of fun things, like obedience, agility and rally, she also was sensitive to his needs when an activity was too much pressure or he needed a break. Murray enjoyed playing with his siblings and rolling in the grass. He is very missed. July 25, 2017
