This page is dedicated to the memory of beloved MNSR Shelties who have crossed the bridge. Until we meet again...

SHUGGI
Sugar was renamed Shuggi when he came home to me on a very lucky Friday the 13th in August of 2004. Shuggi and I had two fulfilling years with each other. When I would be getting ready for work, he would look up at me as if he was asking "is this the day we go for a ride to see Charlie and his dad"? When the day finally came and I told him we were going, he would run around in circles barking the entire time until I would tell him to wait for a couple of minutes. Shuggi's favorite spot was laying on the floor vent in the bathroom to keep cool or warm.

I let Shuggi go to the rainbow bridge on September 1, 2006 when be became very sick from kidney failure. He would have been 11 years old on October 1, 2006. Shuggi is laid to rest at my dad's farm where he is joined by many beloved pets.

Shuggi is sadly missed by his two moms, foster mom, his sheltie buddy Charlie and Charlie's dad.
LUEY
came to us in August of 2005 with a few behavior issues that needed work. He proved himself to be willing a happy worker, and very smart! He made great progress in his foster homes. Sadly, due to a sudden and unexpected diagnosis of auto immume hemolytic anemia, we said a much too soon goodbye to Luey on June 4, 2006. He would have turned 4 years old on June 6, 2006. His two foster moms, Kristie and Ann, will be waiting for his bouncing, barking and happy self when they meet him at the Rainbow Bridge.
NOAH
had been left by his owner in a shelter in another state that was known for quick euthanasia so we wanted to get him out. A volunteer picked him up and he walked out of the shelter on his own. Hours later he "crashed" and it was determined that he was a very sick little guy and was not going to make it, so Noah was euthanized in the arms of someone that loved him, even if it was only for his last few hours. We felt that the little guy was determined to get out of that shelter and held out, knowing someone who cared would come and get him. Another volunteer who helped in Noah's rescue made a special plaque for him and buried him next to his own special shelties that had crossed the Bridge.

GRETCHEN
Was found abandoned with 2 other shelties in a park in Kansas City in 2004 and adopted by Michael. She was a chunky senior full of love and energy. Her attitude towards life was to make friends and be a sassy mother figure to all. She helped out with MNSR home visits and charmed all she met. Her other jobs included taking up the foot of the bed and snoring. She had a wonderful loving home in her final years and is missed very much. Gretchen is laid to rest in Iowa next to her sheltie companion Casey.

BONNIE
My very dear sweet 'Bonnie' whom I adopted a little over two years ago, passed away this evening, she was fine today then after work, alitte later she had a hard time catching her breath, she had like a small seizure, then came too- just like herself, then had difficulty breathing again, then passed, I had stayed with my sweet girl, I can't believe she is gone, I almost think she had a heart attack, not sure though. I adopted her around the age of 8 or 9, so she would of been going on 10, 11 or 12. Her lovey name was: Mrs. Bon Bon Boniferice Marshmellow Magoo. My Dear Sweet 'Bonnie' Oh how I miss my girl!!!!!

MNSR sent two dear friends to the Rainbow Bridge within a few days of each other in early 2006:

JACOB
was surrendered as an older mature dog who had lived his whole life with his family, but they were unable to continue to care for him. He took a long time to adjust and trust in his foster home, but he was always the gentleman. After many months , he was also adopted by his foster home and was well loved in his last years by his mom, brother Gopher, and foster sister Lindy.

Jacob crossed the bridge January 27, 2006.

BRIDGET
found her forever home November, 2004. She had been found running the streets in Elk River, MN.

Bridget was our "security system" even though she had some health problems, she still insisted on going for the evening walk with the rest. Arthritis finally took its toll on her back and legs, decided when she could not longer get up on her own and our love for her, to let her go the the Rainbow Bridge.

Bridget crossed the bridge January 31, 2006.

SANDY
came to us from an Iowa shelter, an old and sweet little lady. Sadly, it was determined that she had a very large inoperable tumor that the vet felt was causing significant discomfort, so we decided that that the most loving decision was to let her go to the Rainbow Bridge.
